I stopped buying pate a long time ago because of all preservatives. I made it home with chicken or pork liver. Because I stopped eating meat 2 months ago I tried for the first time soy pate.
I stopped eating meat because I want to be healthy. I also do sports so I need good protein. Soy is very healthy with lots of nutrients for you.
100 g soy has: 173 calories, 63% water, 16.6 g protein, 9.9 g carbs, 3 g sugar, 6 g fiber, 9 g fat, Vitamin K, copper, manganese, phosphorus, thiamine, etc.
I wasn’t expecting to be so good. Give it a try when you have a no meat day or you want to try something new.
Ingredients:
- 100 g soy beans boiled
- 1 red onion
- Salt and pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon turmeric
Directions:
To make it very easy for you, put everything in the food processor. Add some water if needed. Mix everything together. I like to eat it with red pepper and celery.
Enjoy!
That looks so yummy.
Thank you
😊
You can, in fact, use all kinds of legumes to make pate. I use chickpeas to make hummus almost every week – and it will last me for five days. I also like to make white bean pate. 🙂
It is great to make pate with legumes.
Nice! I was going to try this with chickpeas (on a soy free diet) so it’s good to know it will be tasty:)
I’m soy free too. My body doesn’t seem to like soy very much. I recommend you look for a hummus recipe. (I haven’t got one up yet.) That stuff is heaven!
Over the years, I have been reading a lot about the not-good properties of soy – and I invite you to do the same. Personally, I won’t touch it. From what I have read, only FERMENTED soy is good to eat. Here is a link to a v. short article to give you an idea: https://www.freedomofhealth.eu/en/soy/fermentation-of-soy-is-necessary-for-healthy-soy/ and please, of course, feel free to come to your own conclusions.
Thank you for your information.
Fantastic easy recipe! The turmeric is a great addition: color, taste and full of anti-inflammatory compounds! Thanks for posting!
Thank you
Sounds and looks delicious
Thank you
Yummy! Good blog too!
Thank you
This sounds great! I use a similar soy bean pate (seasoned with cumin and chili powder) as a filling, with cheese, for burritos, using low-carb tortillas. I use Eden Organic black soy beans. We love them! I look forward to trying your recipe. I think it might be great for our home-made tortilla chips (again using the low-carb tortillas.)
Sounds great!
I like the idea of the red onion in it!
Thank you
