Let’s start this month with an appetizer for meat lovers. You can make it for Christmas or New Year’s Eve, or any other celebration or party.
With just a few ingredients, this recipe is easy to make and very fast, looks very festive, so you can impress your guests any time you are making it.
Ingredients:
- 10 Portobello mushrooms
- 200 g Salty cheese
- 1 – 2 Tomatoes
- 200 g Homemade sausage
- Pepper
- Chili flakes (optional)
- Olive oil
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius. Brush the mushroom cap on both sides with olive oil and season with pepper. Place on a baking sheet, gill side down, and bake until tender, about 20 minutes, then turn gill side up.
Take the mushrooms out and mound the cheese, sprinkle chili flakes and on top of the cheese put 2 slices of sausage.
Bake the stuffed mushrooms until the cheese is melted, 5 – 10 minutes.
Serve them hot with a half slice tomato on top.
Meat lovers will have a blast at the table when they will see these mushrooms.
Enjoy!

The presentation is wonderful. You make home made sausage?
Thank you. No. I wish. We have a great small local company for that.
Sounds easy and delicious; my two favorite things! (easy because I will probably buy the sausage)
Thank you
Perfection.
Thank you
Oh Gosh need to try that! I would suggest to use maybe herb flavored oils (particularly rosemary-olive oil) when brushing the mushrooms, I found a nice easy home-made way to do it on “the spruce” (https://www.thespruce.com/make-herbal-oils-with-herbs-1402100). What do you think?
Nice! I will try it. Thank you
I’m going to try this recipe. I make mine a little different, but these look fantastic!
Thank you. Enjoy!
I will try this recipe especially on these days (I fast). It looks yummy and it is easy!
These Portobellos look incredible, perfectly baked and topped with great ingredients!
Thank you
Wow, that looks so tasty! xxx

Looks to me like I could easily leave off the sausage and–I’m a veggie–enjoy them also.
Looks like a delicious idea. We have always made Portobellos vegetarian for our sons. Nice to have this omnivore variant. Will have to give it a try.
Enjoy!
Beautifully photographed! I love mushrooms & tomatoes especially together!
Thank you
Don’t look while I slip one of those inside a softened/warmed ciabatta roll. This looks great.
Looks great!
Thank you
I’m going to try this with turkey bacon or smoked ham, its all I’ve got right now and I love to just make do and create something new from recipes that inspire me. Thanks! I tweeted this yummy post. https://twitter.com/HippieLadyIdeas/status/968621374075006976
Sounds great!
You had me at mushrooms – then you stole my heart when you added sausage. What time should I show up at your house to eat? 🙂
