March is National Nutrition Month. It started in 1973 as a week-long event and became a month-long one in 1980 because people grew interest in nutrition. Nutrition Month is sponsored by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and focuses on helping people developing good eating habits, exercise and make correct food choices.
We are what we eat, so, celebrate this month by trying healthy food, sport and happiness.
The Theme for 2017 is “Put your best fork forward”, that means each bite counts. Start with small changes and make them bigger. Add a fruit or a vegetable to your daily meal and then try and stick with it for the year. Add every month a day without meat and then try and make it every week. Have a fruit for a snack once in a while. In time, you will start making this healthy choices more often.
Looks like my neighbors to the north get everything right
Nutrition is near and dear to my heart. These are good starter tips and can make a difference in preventing problems.
Thank you
This is awesome and sad. Awesome because healthy eating habits are integral to well being and should be promoted! Sad because needing to promote healthy eating habits needs to be done – choosing an apple over a bag of Doritos really shouldn’t be something that people need to do gradually so they get used to it. Keeping healthy choices in the spotlight is, in the end always a good thing! 🙂
RIGHT! Why does eating healthy have to be a holiday to be considered at all? If anything there should be a Ban Junk Food day!
Comfort delivered home drops mic! 😀

Funny. As I’m reading this, I’m munching on a bowl of chopped cantaloupe while a chocolate bar is trying to tempt me close by. Thanks for sharing.
