I dried my cherry stem last spring and kept them in an airtight container. I spread them on a cookie sheet and leave to dry in a dark place for a few days.
Here is my tea recipe
Ingredients:
- ½ liter water
- 25 g cherry stems
Directions:
Boil the stems for 5 minutes and then turn the heat off and allow steeping for 6 hours or overnight.
Drain it and drink it cold or reheated. You can also add sugar or honey. I like it simple.
Enjoy!

I will try it for my personal taste. But ingredients are not available here. When I will be at kashmir or Bhutan I’ll bring some steam. Thanks for sharing.

Have a tasty day!
Would have never thought about that.
I’ve never heard of that. They look like black sour cherries in your pic. Could I use vișine? Does the tea have a cherry flavour?
You can use any cherry. I think the flavor depends on the cherry.
I’m wondering about the flavor, too. Is it more grassy, or more cherry?
I would say is 50-50
Ooh we have a cherry tree in our garden – I’ll definitely give this a go in the summer. I never thought to use the stalks! TFS x
Great way to use Cherry stems. Unique.
Wondering what kind of flavor does it have~
Love this idea – I’ve never heard of it before!
I wonder if you would get more flavor if you roughly chopped the stems?
Maybe.
This is so creative! I’d never think of it in a million years.

I don’t believe that it gets any easier than this!
Seems very easy to do will try this. 😊
I will save the stems and make this tea next time I buy cherries. Thanks for sharing

What does it taste like?
It doesn’t taste like cherry. It has like a woodish flavor, but is good.
