I save money and time when I stay home and cook. Also, I eat healthier. But, what do you do when you can’t cook or your cooking is not good?
You keep trying and learn but sometimes are better and healthier eating out.

Cooking at home is a great way to spend with your kids. I involve my son in the process and he loves it. He wants to become a chef so I try to explain to him that he needs to start by helping me in the kitchen.
He loves to go out to restaurants to see how it actually works. In the places that I know the owner or the chef I take him in the kitchen and show him the life of a chef.
We come home and he starts envisioning his restaurant. I love him for his imagination.
Even if I like to cook I prefer eating out. I live in a small town and we have only restaurants that serve food from our area. Even if I go out my menu is limited. I usually have pizza or some food that takes a lot of time to make it.
At home, I cook healthier so when I go out I indulge myself with food that normally I don’t eat. I miss living in a big city. When I was living in London I use to love going out even it was very expensive. I will take my friends and go to Asian restaurants, Italian or try something new.
Camden Town market is a perfect spot to eat out. You have so many things to choose from.
What do you prefer?

I feel like I save so much time when eating out, but it’s super-expensive, especially if I want to go for the healthier and tastier options, so most of the time it’s home-cooking for me.
Trying again since (despite just editing my own scheduled WP post, I was told I had to be logged in to comment… say WHUT?!)
I generally like dining in. Control. Less expense. But I do keep things simple for less hassle (and yes, ox simple beast…) Though going out once in a while is good. Partly as simple as “get out of Dodge” change of pace, partly to have stuff I might not care to make myself or even wouldn’t consider making myself. And also, at times, “I’m just done. Let someone else do the work this time.” applies.
I don’t like cooking because of sudden splash of oil. But I love eating
My wife and I would love to cook more at home but sometimes life can get so hectic that eating out is the most convenient option and we wish it wasn’t so because it can get pretty expensive, especially in the long run.
We need to make more time for prepping and cooking meals at home. Let’s try that this year! Lol
I love eating out
I really like eating at home. because my mother cooks delicious food And at my house, I have opened a restaurant business for more than 16 years.
I like eating at home. If we cook the food, we know what is in it. That helps a lot with watching our weight and with nutrition.
I love cooking at home. You have greater control of what you eat when you cook at home. Thank you for sharing
Same here.
I also enjoy eating out but with friends. I prefer home when i am with family.
Hi! We prefer to eat at home when I cook it better at home which is usually the case. It’s very disappointing to go out and spend the money and end up saying to ourselves, I could have made this better at home myself, LOL! So, we try to go out for meals that I don’t make, like Sushi as one example. 🙂
I prefer to eat at home, but I am a chef, so I’m more capable than some. Speaking of markets, it’s a joy to have this newcomer to Northern NJ. I’m sure you would love to have a market like it nearer to you.

I like both. But somedays I just feel like eating out.
I eat more at home than outside. Sometimes, eating with friends and family out can be entertaining.
I do a lot of both. I also buy prepared but uncooked foods (like pre-seasoned or pre-marinaded chicken) and cook them at home. We order brunch delivered to us on weekends (dining in is closed for now and we have a child under five, so indoor dining is a no-go for us. Can’t do outdoors since we’re in Toronto and it’s either below freezing or hovering on the freezing mark). We’re big supporters of small/independent restaurants though.
Cooking at home with others is the best! I love the ability to not only learn new recipes, but also create special memories with someone. I bet your son will look back to your teaching him fondly once he is a chef with his own restaurant!
That is a nice thought. Thank you
We tend to cook at home more than we go out to eat. We are quite good at cooking from scratch. Although we do get stuck in the habit that I’m sure everyone does of rotating the same few recipes that are your favourites.
When we do go out we tend to stick to the places that we know well.
I love both of cooking at home or eating out. Sometimes when i’m eating out with my friends, i’ll try to re-cook at home. That’s awesome for me 😎
To be frank, I prefer home cooking as well. I am not that of a good cook and I don’t even have a unique recipe for the dishes. I search up the recipe on Youtube and give it go. Most of the time, the dish turn out to be good.
What i like about eating at home, is the process of Cooking.
I prefer home cooking. This way, I get to the nitty-gritty of my cooking. I get to control the taste, the color, and the smell of the food. For one with a sensitive stomach, you cannot be careful enough.
I also eat out once in a while, mostly on previously tested restaurants and dishes. You know, like you have your favorite chicken spot and the like?
I know what you mean.
Nice recipe
Thank you
I love cooking for my family and I love eating out with them too..usually I treat myself with different kinds of food if I went to a new place. And I just like places where the people and staff are genuine and friendly.
I like it
I would prefer to cook from home but I am just plain lazy sometimes LOL. But I agree from both a financial and health perspective it is definitely better to cook from home.
I don’t really enjoy cooking so I would prefer to eat out. However, my husband prefers home-cooked meals so I mostly cook at home and rarely eat out. When I eat out by myself, I eat something my husband doesn’t eat like fettuccine or chicken burger and fries. Pizza is better with delivery and a movie at home.
I learned to cook to save. But sometimes I lack time for other things.
It depends on the moment and company…
My wife trained to be a chef and is one of the fee people I have ever known who loves all food …
We love cooking at home as more relaxed and we spend hours cooking & catching up each other’s day
Sometimes with friends or family or people who love food
Other days we order in but then stick to our favourites as you know the quality and consistency
Eating out prior to the pandemic was for special occasions …
Being Wiccan I believe that people who truly love food and cooking when cooking for people they care about or have a chemistry / connection with have the gift of Food magic, if you know what I mean 😏
Love cooking at home especially something exciting but it’s also nice to get dressed smart and go out for a good bottle of red wine and some food that someone else has cooked 😊
I prefer cooking at home,, I am the shy type that don’t normally like eating outside
I love eating out but I love cooking at home way more
I love both but as my daughter gets older I enjoy cooking more and more. Great post!
I prefer eating at home unless it’s Saturday!
It’s good idea!
Me and family we love food 😁 @https://amzn.to/3AiRGSR with music all the time.
I love to cook but sometimes don’t have time so end up eating out. My waist line definitely grows bigger if I eat out too often, so I try to cook as often as possible
Eating out is the best option, I think
With more time on hand, I’ve cooked about 95% at home. It’s been fun to research recipes and try them. Some are wonderful while others not so. Travel is our passion while trying the local cuisine. The pandemic has changed our routine. So, I cook all fresh and healthy meals at home and share them with friends.
Eating out is so overrated. Sometimes it’s best to roll up your sleeves and get creative. Cooking has become a passion of mine over the years and it’s the perfect time to experiment with different flavor profiles. Although clean-up may be a task within itself, it allows the whole family to take part from prep to plating.
My husband does a phenomenal job with cleanup.
That’s awesome. As he should. Does he also assist in the prep and cooking?
I prefer mostly to eat at home, rather than be disappointed at a restaurant.
I guess as a chef it is hard not to overanalyse, the food , the ambience, the service and ask myself what would I do differently?
Of course on vacation or when invited to gathering of family and friends I do enjoy the occasion and the food becomes secondary.
A great restaurant should make good food but should also make the guests feel relaxed as if they are at home and that is a tough balancing act.
I only eat out because it’s CONVENIENT. I found an AWESOME convenient food.. an apple and some peanut butter. Eat a couple of bites – and an urgency for fast food goes away – time to think to make anything else.
Both! Can’t decide, I guess it depends on my mood :))
I like both, but I prefer cooking at home.
I enjoy cooking 😊
I like both, but if I really had to chose one then I’d eat out all the time. It used to be really dire locally but since COVID there have been some really good healthy salad/vegan/diet options. The problem is that it costs too much!
