I bought cacao pasta for the first time. I wanted to do macaroni and cheese pudding, but, my son is having a no cheese period so I thought to use mascarpone so he wouldn’t realize that there is cheese in it. My mom’s recipe is with fresh cheese.
This macaroni and cheese pudding is your regular Mac and cheese…but with a twist. This recipe promises and delivers a special dessert.
My macaroni and cheese pudding has a few “tricks”:
- I didn’t use regular cheese but mascarpone.
- I used honey instead of sugar.
- I used cacao pasta.
- 250 g cacao pasta
- 1 egg
- 250 g mascarpone
- 1 cup yogurt
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- Homemade vanilla extract
- Butter for coating the baking tray
Boil the pasta as directed on package, and then drain and rinse in cold water. Pour a little oil and stir well. In a bowl beat the egg, honey, lemon juice, cinnamon and vanilla extract. Add mascarpone and then pasta and mix them well with a spoon. Coat with butter a baking tray. Pour everything in the tray and bake on medium heat. Remove when pudding gets a brown crust.
You can serve it hot or cold. Enjoy!

As always the photos are amazing.
A really interesting and innovative recipe! The option of enjoying it hot or cold is a tasty bonus!
Never heard of cacao pasta but as it’s being used in just about anything, am not surprised. Looks like an interesting dessert.
Very interesting! The only thing I have seen in the U.S. that is remotely similar is sweet kugel, a European Jewish dish that can also be savory, or bread pudding, that has raisins and lots and lots of butter and milk. This is a cool twist on the idea that I’m tempted to try!!
This sounds amazing!!!! 🍽
Yikes, that looks good. Going to have to give that a whirl. With a dollop of marmite on top.
This looks good and who doesn’t like Mac and Cheese or Chocolate.
Blimey, but that looks good! I wonder if I could make it with ordinary gluten-free pasta (I’m sure I’ve never seen chocolate pasta anywhere). I guess, I’m just gonna give it a go. Can’t hurt, eh?
It will be great!
Oh wow! This looks incredible. I can’t wait to try it. 😋
Cacao pasta exists? I guess it can, but I’ve never seen it!!!
I’d love to find it!!! I don’t think I’ve seen them in stores (too lazy to make it myself).
My kids would love this!
Sounds interesting and unique, definitely going try it special thanks for sharing the recipe.

What does cacao pasta taste like? Is the flavor strong?
Taste like chocolate. Not very strong.
Yum, that looks amazing!
This is so neat! I did not know such a thing existed. My daughters and I were just talking about cacao and where chocolate comes from. They love to learn about things like that. Keep up the good work!
Thanks for this useful informative blog sharing step by step.
