Eat what you want day

Today, in USA is Eat what you want day. This day was created by Thomas and Ruth Roy from wellcat.com to help people frustrated by diets. Most nutritionist agree that a break now and then can be good for the people dieting.

To celebrate this day don’t start eating all the junk food in the world, especially if you are on a diet. It will be difficult the next day. Pick 5 things you really love and have them during the day alongside with your normal meals. Here is my list of guilty pleasures all sugary:

  1. Chocolate Pavlova – Chocolate is always my number one choice. chocolate pavlova
  2. Cake with pears – Find some juice pears and have a great cake for a day. cake with pears
  3. Papanasi – Our Romanian dumplings with cheese and jam are a must. papanasi
  4. Pears baked in pastry – You can use also apples. It is a celebration on a plate. pear baked in pastry
  5. Oven baked French toast – You can end the day with this dessert. GAB_4139_res_mix

As you can see, all I will eat this day would be desserts. What is your list? What are your guilty pleasures?

  1. Good old fashioned English Trifle!

I wonder if the USA could also have a No Food Day, to honour all those homeless folk or refugees who don’t have enough to eat?? In fact, the whole Western world should do it really… just a thought

  2. I never understood the sense of this kind of programmed days: this “eat what you want day” is my day 365 days in a year 😀
And I also believe that only a small percentage of all the people on diets have really problems with some food and really need to follow those diets. The remaining percentage I believe is just fashion and marketing/media power, or simply boredom.
Of course it’s just a personal opinion.

  3. Ohhh this all look so good. I’ve been naughty today but whatever hahah check out my blog too 🙂 festivedaria.com

  4. Every day is “eat what I want” day, but with portion control because I want to maximize my health: I know if I eat 5 pieces of baklava, I won’t have room for a salad. The salad will make me stronger. Meh- so will baklava, but you get my gist. I crave and eat it all, but carefully: hot pickled peppers, chocolate, cheese, nuts, balsamic covered salads, Wendy’s baconator fries.

I guess I could eat some straight up candy and Doritos today, both things I mostly keep away from but do like. 🙂

    1. Yes, that’s the point.
If a person eats everyday normally, with a good balance, with a varied diet, with no excess, that person will enjoy every day and will never feel the need to eat 5 desserts in a day.

  5. I’m with you, everything I’d eat would be sugary! The chocolate pavlova looks like the perfect cheat day food ❤

  6. Those pears in pastry – like honeybee hives! Must learn to make those (you need at least one signature dessert).

But for today, potato chips with dip!

Perhaps you’ll give us a monthly “Eating Without Limits” post? 🙂 (Weekly would be too hazardous.)

  7. My problem would be, if I made each of those for eat what you want day today, that means tomorrow and the next few days would also become eat what you want days as I finish up the leftovers!

  8. Yum! And those pear desserts… baked in a cake and then baked in pastry?! Do you have those recipes posted somewhere? And what about that French toast? Oh my!
Right this minute I’m eating pecan pie! But if I’d known this earlier I would have planned and had some kettle cooked potato chips… salty crunch is my weakness… Oh, wait. I had potato chips earlier today. Guess I celebrated after all!
    Thanks for the inspiration!

  13. I’ll put it on my calendar–this has the potential to be the very best holiday of all! 🙂

  14. I’m with you on choosing desserts! I’d choose cheesecake with strawberries, peanut butter and chocolate cheesecake, Oreo cheesecake – I guess I’d just need to spend this day at the Cheesecake Factory. I had no idea this day existed- can’t wait til it rolls around next year!!
