Chocolate cupcakes without sugar and flour

Yeah!! Finally I found a recipe for my boy for cupcakes without flour and sugar. They called it Paleo recipe, I call it a very healthy and with a great taste recipe for cupcakes.

I added a chocolate frosting without sugar and I got an amazing dessert for our family.

With white sugar being added in almost everything these days, I want to try to eat white sugar as less as possible. So, trying healthy recipes is one of the steps I do to cut white sugar from our daily meals.

Ingredients cupcakes:

  • 1/2 cup coconut powder or flakes
  • 1/2 cup carob or cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup coconut oil
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 juice from 1 lemon

Directions:

Preheat oven to 200 degrees C (375 degrees F). Line  a cupcake pan cups with paper liners.

Mix all the ingredients in a blender. Fill the prepared cupcake liners and bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, about 30 minutes. Let the cupcakes cool in the pans for about 30 minutes before removing them to finish cooling on a rack.

You can keep them for a few days in the fridge at room temperature in a box.

  • 1 teaspoon honey

Put all the ingredients in the blender and blend it till you have a creamy texture.

Decorate the chocolate cupcakes with chocolate frosting. I used also chocolate eggs because we have Easter coming soon. Enjoy!

  1. Thank you for this recipe, all the ingredient made sense to me. I used this recipe as a base, changed some ingredient ratios, used whole walnuts instead of walnut oil and ended up with a light cream with an amazing taste. You can’t taste avocado in it, not much banana taste either, just a hint. Perfect dairy and sugar free alternative to a chocolate butter cream. Thanks again.

    1. I agree that this recipe is awesome and I am so thankful she posted it. I am also going to try using some whole walnuts instead of walnut oil.

  2. Thank you for sharing the recipe. I must try. Sweets without sugar… Is it sweet a bit? I guess the sweetness comes from coconuts.. Right? Recently I see many chocolate products with less sugar and calories and emphasize the advantage of the nutrition. But they use artificial sweetness, which is the reason I am not willing to buy.. So right now, I enjoy cocoa milk drink without sugar. I could add your sugarless chocolate sweets to my treats.
    Thank you again.

  3. Being gluten intolerant myself, I am fond of many paleo recipes. Your chocolate cupcakes without sugar recipe sounds great – I will definitely be trying these. 🙂

  4. Looks great! Have you thought of using rice malt syrup instead of honey? Honey is still full of fructose, which is the type of sugar you need to avoid.

  5. These look great! I’d love to reblog this…I’ve been trying to go sans sugar and this looks like the ideal solution!

  6. Due to nut allergies, I can’t use nut based ingredients for my family but an alternative to walnut oil could be olive/ vegetable oil or avocado oil.

    1. I bake only nut free and egg free recipes. You can supplement oil with many other ingredients or go back to simply using butter. Avocado oil is very strong flavor, vegetable oil is always a safe bet or melted butter/margarine.

  7. Wow looks like a great recipe to try! Thank you for sharing. The frosting ingredients I have never tried together but can’t wait…avocado and banana eh mmm.
Most of my recipes are eggless and nut free because of allergies.
Question: I am trying to make a flourless recipe, can I use oats or does that contain gluten as well?

    1. Oats don’ have gluten but something else similar. You can try chia flour, chic pea flour, corn flour or coconut flour.

  8. Wow! How interesting and impressive to get a chocolate dessert out of avocados. I need to email myself this recipe — it looks great!
