One of the good things in life is good food. When I was a kid I never thought about bad food or good food. I ate everything we got because we did not have plenty of food. I was a student and I ate lots of potatoes all my student years. Meat was only on occasions and most of the desserts were home made. In 1989 revolution came in Romania and we discover fruits and vegetables that we know only from the books.
Now, I still love potatoes and I make new recipes, I manage to discover that I really like Chia seeds, turmeric, noodles and others.
This dessert is so easy to make with only 3 ingredients. The sour cherry syrup is home made by a family that I meet this year. You can find here some goodies they do Dulceata gradinii (The sweetness of the garden).
- Chia seeds
- Sour cherry syrup
Pour in a glass 1 teaspoon of sour cherry syrup. Add on top kefir and then 1 teaspoon of Chia seeds. Mix the seeds with kefir and then leave it in the fridge overnight. Add another layer of syrup on top before serving.
Enjoy it in the morning or any time you want a dessert!

Sometimes less is more. Great recipe!
A lovely little dessert!
I, too, grew up thinking we ate potato soup because of how good Mother made it taste. I was in college before it sunk into my thick skull that back 15 years earlier we could only afford meat once or twice a week!
This looks delicious, as my bride and I love yogurt.
Sounds YUMMY!! I love a chia pudding! 🍮❤️
Ooh, this sounds so INTERESTING! I’ve made chia seed pudding…but never put kefir in it. And SOUR CHERRY SYRUP?!? That for sure sounds like something I need in my life! I’m imagining it over vanilla…or CHOCOLATE…ice cream! Have you done that? Please advise, ha ha 🙂
Wow! Not done yet, but I am putting on my list. Sounds amazing!
Speaking of “things over ice cream,” have ever had Chinese chili crisp on vanilla ice cream? Oh. My. GOD. That is TRULY a taste sensation! It’s salty, sweet, creamy, crunchy…very interesting juxtaposition of flavors 🙂
Yes. I love it.
