How to Increase Your Blog Traffic

I start blogging in September 2012 and my traffic for 2013 and 2014 was not good at all, as you can see in the image.

traffic blog

I had a few followers and few people saw my posts.  After reading about traffic and visitors I manage to get more people reading my blog with just a few steps. So here is something to help you gain more traffic without paying anything:

  1. Write short posts because people don’t like to get lost in the story. Most of us don’t have time to read thousands of words.
  2. Read every day other people blogs.
  3. Try to answer to all your visitors.
  4. Use links to other posts when is necessary.
  5. Use Facebook, Pinterest and other social sharing sites to promote your posts.
  6. Tell beautiful stories.
  7. Write guest posts for other blogs and have guest posts.
  8. Try to write a post once a week.
  9. Use beautiful photos and have an attractive title.
  10. Create better content and use appropriate tags.

Most of my time spent on internet is used reading other blogs. I love to read about food, recipes, photography, travelling, sports, health, etc. I appreciate with a like or a comment if I like something in that post: a photo, a story, a presentation, a recipe, etc. But, the most important thing is helping other bloggers. I am so happy when people tell me that I really helped them with a post and they are happy they found my blog.  That means that I manage to help someone.

  1. Great post. Some helpful insights to whay I need to do next. I just started blogging. And have like 2 followers maybe. Haha. So, your numbers seems link such a long way off. But I agree with all you said. U do this to connect and to help others, and yourself. I mean the plethora of information we find by sharing knowledge, is awesome.
    THANKS for sharing this.

  2. I think all your suggestions are spot on. I sometimes do longer posts but those are often a how to type where you want to be sure you explain clearly. Also I have a personal blog that I do for myself and i am less concerned with followers so that gets the wordier posts.

  3. Your post was just what I needed today! I’m pretty new to all this and am at the stage where you were a few years ago. It’s easy to get discouraged when things are slow. Thanks for being an encouraging voice.

  4. Oh my days. I had 3000 views last year (my first) and thought I was doing alright! You do have a very beautiful and uplifting blog and deserve all the popularity x

  5. This post is great for someone like me who is still relatively new to blogging and still dealing with extremely small traffic numbers. Thanks for the tips and will keep trying to write better content that people can benefit from.

  6. Love this and thank you for sharing! I just started my blog in January. I have slowly started to learn some of these things. But your list and graph is so helpful to see where your perseverance (and good writing & content) has taken you!

  7. I appreciate this info! I am doing all these things, but still very new (only 3+ months) with very low #’s and can’t imagine getting #’s like this! But funny, I read an SEO article the other day that suggested that longer posts (at least 2000 words) were the way to go! I can’t imagine anyone sticking around that long!

  8. that was a bag of gold coins for me…. thanks a lottt… im a begginer in the blog world n yeah.. wil try all ur tips.. sharing is caring. cheers
