When I decided to start eating healthier than usually, one of the meals was the nuts. It was a difficult choice to make, because we have so many types of nuts, all full of nutrients and health benefits. On the other hand too much nuts could be bad for you, so I had to search on internet a lot to find out what nuts I need, for the benefits I want and at what time to eat them, to help me.
After all this research, which anyone of us should do, I decided that I will eat almonds, goji berry, sesame seeds, pecan nuts, pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds. Don’t imagine I will eat a bag or a fist of all this nuts. No way. I will have 5 or 6 goji berries, 3 pecan nuts, 10 almonds and a tea spoon of sesame seeds, pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds. All this nuts are a snack in the morning, around 10 AM. Because they have fats, it’s better to eat them in the morning and not in the evening.
Besides being packed with protein, most nuts contain at least some of these heart-healthy substances:
- Unsaturated fats
- Omega-3 fatty acids
- Fiber
- Vitamin E
- Plant sterols
- L-arginine
You can choose different nuts. Is not a rule to eat those ones.I choose those because was easy to find them in my small city. We don’t have a great market for nuts. I can find nuts online, but maybe I am crazy, but sometimes I wanna see what I am buying.
Stay health!
Great one!
I’m happy to know you’re eating more consciously. Your ten o’clock nuts are part of my breakfast cereal. Since I’m seriously lazy, it’s put together for me by one of my friends, who’s a chef. He makes them for customers, but I buy all of them. I put two tablespoons in 200ml of almond milk. (I am so not into breakfast). I’m fresh out, but I need to wait until Tuesday to get more. I’m looking forward to your next post.
Thank you
I think wanting to know what you’re buying is a good idea. Every food we eat provides with a vital nutrient that we need and you want to make sure you’re getting the highest quality nutrients in the right concentration that your body can put to good use! I wish more people thought like this.
I love mixing goji berries, slivered almonds, pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds with some cacao nibs for extra flavor. Delicious and energizing!
You should include cashews in your nut repertoire. These nuts are so much more than just a snack. They can be soaked and blended and take the place of cream and cheese. Vegans love them!
Thanks for stopping by my blog!
Thank you for information
I love the simplicity of this post! And with such a beautiful pic! Check out the benefits of soaking nuts and seeds here: http://foodmatters.tv/articles-1/the-benefits-of-soaking-nuts-and-seeds . Seemingly it makes them even more powerful, yet easier to digest 🙂
Thank you. I will do
These pictures are beautiful! I love nuts – it’s sure hard not to eat a handful.
Thank you
Great post…great infos…healthy advices….beautiful photos!!! Thank you!!
Nice. I make a mix of almonds, pumpkin, sunflower, chia and sesame seeds to eat on yoghurt for breaky. Great in salads too. Or roasted veges. Toasted gently is even better, but if you cook them too far you lose some nutritional value (apparently). Love your pics 🙂
Great info!
Thank you

yes, i too prefer to see what i am buying. especially when it comes to food. as for nuts, i’m weak for cashew nuts. not exactly the healthiest among many other nuts, but i like the texture and buttery flavor of cashew.
I love ypur pictures and food! So I nominated you for the Lovely Blog Award –

Nuts are my favorite snack, so filling and healthy. Thank you for visiting my blog and liking my chocolate cake post. My cake has walnuts in it by the way:-)
You are welcome
i like all kinds of seeds. but not exactly the same when it comes to nuts. my favorite nut is actually cashew nut. not exactly the best nutritional choice, but for me it beats the others in flavor and texture, although i enjoy pistachios as well.
