Every year, we celebrate World Blood Donor Day on 14 June. We need to raise awareness of the need for safe blood and blood products and, also, to thank blood donors for their wonderful gift.
Every pint of blood donated can save more than 3 lives. Blood donation by 1% of the population can meet a nation’s most basic requirements for blood.
It is a way to help others. It is a beautiful and healthy way to make a change in this world. A big change.

Great post Gabi, unfortunately they don’t want mine, but I would if I could! 😊 btw I nominated you for liebster awards on my blog today 😊 keep up the good work x
Thank you for your nomination
Good reminder. We try to be donors when we can!
I would if I could, but I had malaria, so even vampires don’t want my blood.
Sorry to hear that
Donate what & when you you can. Even passing the word along helps.
Here in France I don’t qualify because I weigh too little. A shame, as my blood is O negative (universal donor).
Same here
I’m alive thanks to a blood donor! The time and gift he/she gave truly changed everyone in my family’s lives. Thank you isn’t enough.
I have never tried to donate my blood, maybe someday I’ll try 🙂
