I’ve been making my own yogurt for my little one, since I started diversification. It’s very easy to made and very healthy. Homemade Yogurt is a healthy source of protein, calcium, magnesium, and other essential vitamins, whose active bacterial cultures aid in digestion. You can make yogurt in your own home and it requires only a microwave.
Ingredients:
1/2 l milk
2 tablespoons existing yogurt or 2 tablespoons fat sour cream if is the first time you do it
Directions:
Boil the milk. You need to take this steps. In a sauce pan put the milk at 200 degrees C. When it start boiling , lower the temperature and let it boiled for another 10 min. When is done you need to cool the milk as fast as you can. Don’t put it in the fridge. I use a bigger sauce pan with really cold water and I put the sauce pan with the milk inside the sauce pan with the water. If it’s necessary I will change the water again.
After is cool down take a glass bowl and put the existing yogurt (fat sour cream) inside and with a spoon try to coat the bowl. Pour down the milk in the bowl and put it in the microwave for 15 seconds and leave it there. If you need to use the microwave remove the bowl and after you’re done put it back. When it starts to get harder than a sour cream, then it’s done. Take it and put it in the refrigerator. You can leave 2 tablespoons of this yogurt to make the next one. Yogurt lasts about two weeks in the refrigerator. Enjoy!
Oh I love home-made yoghurt! I’ve tried doing yoghurt before, it was delicious, but quite liquid, could you advise anything?
Also, there is this game going on, I taged you in it, if you’ve got some free time, perhaps you’d like to join? :] http://missnak.blogspot.co.uk/2012/12/salad-and-game.html
You need to put in the milk sour cream or yogurt. Leave it in the microwave till is not liquid anymore. It will be several hours.
I don’t have or use a microwave..could I reheat on the stove? 🙂
