White Moussaka

White Moussaka

I love Moussaka, but when you don’t have all the ingredients in the fridge, you adapt the recipe. So this is what I did. My husband loved it and he is a tough judge. It is a simpler recipe and a lot easy to make, but very tasteful.

Ingredients:

  • Chicken breast
  • Potatoes
  • 2 white onions
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • Kefir (Yogurt)
  • Butter
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Directions:

Make the mashed potatoes with butter and Kefir and season with salt and pepper.

Preheat the oven. In a pan add some butter and stir the chopped onions until softened. Add the garlic and the chicken. Cook the chicken and season with salt and pepper.

Assemble the Moussaka: a layer of butter on the baking tray, a layer of mashed potatoes, and a layer of chicken and on top another layer of mashed potatoes.

Baked it at 180 Celsius Degrees for 45 – 50 minutes or until you have a crust on top.

Serve it with Kefir. Enjoy!

  1. I discovered moussaka for the first time when I visited Greece, afterwards, I kept ordering it at every restaurant I went to. Soo delicious! Thanks for sharing this recipe! 🙂

P.S. I am a new mommy too, cheers to the journey of motherhood and cooking, and juggling both on top of a million other things!
